Searching Customers
To search for customers, you can use a simple search or an extended search.
By default, the Intershop Customer Engagement Center always displays the simple customer search after you have logged in or after you have ended a contact session.
Simple Customer Search
This section explains how to search for a customer using the simple search.
The simple search allows you to search for a customer by (parts of) the last name, the customer no. or the e-mail address.
To do so:

Specify the customer's last name, customer no. or e-mail address to be retrieved.
Note: The search term must be least three characters long.The search allows for using and combining the following options:
- Multiple search terms (last name, customer no., e-mail address) separated by space
- Parts of search terms to retrieve all customers with a specific letter sequence in their last name, customer no. or e-mail address
- Fuzzy operators like *

Click Find Customer.
This displays the results in the list view.
Extended Customer Search
This section explains how to search for a customer using the extended search.
Using the extended search, you can increase the accuracy of your results by specifying the exact search criteria.
To do so:

On the simple customer search page, click Switch to Extended
Search..
This displays the extended search dialog.

Specify your search criteria in the corresponding fields.
The following specific fields are available:
- Last Name
- First Name
- Customer No.
- Postal Code
- City
- Country
- Phone
- Date of Birth
- Channel
Note: The simple search field is still mandatory with at least three characters. The other fields refine the search to increase the accuracy of the results. The search terms are combined (using a logical AND). -
Click Find Customer.
This displays the results in the list view.
